Initiated in 2014, Air Max Day commemorates the release of the original Air Max 1 on March 26, 1987. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 1 was the first sneaker to showcase visible air cushioning, revolutionizing footwear design. Since then, March 26th has become a day for Nike to celebrate its Air Max lineage with special releases and events.

The Legacy of the Air Max 95

Introduced in 1995, the Air Max 95, designed by Sergio Lozano, drew inspiration from human anatomy, featuring gradient paneling and forefoot air units. Its distinctive design and comfort made it an instant classic, especially in its original "Neon" colorway.

Anticipated Releases for Air Max Day 2025

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95, Nike is pulling out all the stops. One of the most anticipated releases is the return of the Air Max 95 "Neon" with its original "Big Bubble" design, staying true to the 1995 version.

Additionally, Nike is expected to introduce the Air Max DN8, a new model set to debut on March 26, 2025, aligning with Air Max Day celebrations.
